🌿 Awareness Is Only the Beginning

Image
Sometimes I recognize patterns before I understand the situation. Years of life experience have taught me to notice behaviors, communication styles, and small changes that often remind me of something I have seen before. My mind naturally begins connecting the dots, exploring different possibilities, and imagining where a conversation or relationship might be heading. Many times those observations turn out to be helpful. Sometimes they don't. What I have been learning is that recognizing a pattern is not the same as knowing another person's reality. My experiences are real. Their experiences are real. Until we begin asking questions and listening to one another, I only know the story from my own perspective. That realization has slowly changed the way I communicate. Rather than assuming that my understanding is the truth, I have been learning to stay curious long enough for both realities to have the chance to meet. Awareness may show us where to look. 🌿 What Changes When Understanding Becomes Practice?

There are moments when understanding arrives quietly. We finally recognize a pattern, see a situation from a different perspective, or realize why something keeps repeating in our lives.   Have you ever noticed how easy it is to become so focused on improving your body that you stop paying attention to how it actually feels? Many of us grow up believing that wellbeing is something we achieve by doing more, trying harder, or finding the next solution. We measure progress by what changes on the outside while overlooking the small signals that quietly shape our everyday lives. Hunger. Energy. Rest. Stress. Satisfaction. These experiences are often part of an ongoing conversation between our bodies and the way we live. Yet when life becomes busy, that conversation can slowly fade into the background. The strange part is that we often don't notice it happening. We become so used to pushing through tiredness that exhaustion starts to feel normal. We eat because the clock tells us it's time, not because we've noticed we're hungry. We promise ourselves we'll rest after we've finished "just one more thing," until one more thing becomes the way ...
