๐ŸŒฟ The Meal That Remembered Me

There are days when I don’t want to cook.

When energy is low and I just wander around the kitchen, waiting for something to speak to me.
Today was one of those days. But somehow… something answered.

No recipe. No plan. Just a whisper:
Noodles and rice.
That brought me back to my college days, simple meals, little luxury, just enough to get by.
And somehow, with what I had in the kitchen, a memory turned into a meal.

๐Ÿฆ Shrimp.
๐Ÿฆ€ Crabmeat.
๐Ÿ— Chicken sausage.
๐ŸŒฑ Okra.
๐ŸŒฟ My homemade herb paste.
Fried in ghee… and seasoned with teriyaki, sesame, and chili sauce.
Even the dates weren’t expired yet,  they showed up like quiet witnesses to something sacred.

I made it. I tasted it.
And I couldn’t believe it.
It was delicious. So good I wanted more, but I was already full.

✨ Reflector Moment

This wasn’t just food. It was a feeling.
A memory. A return. A reminder.
Of who I was, what I’ve walked through, and how nourishment can find us even when we’re tired or unsure.

Sometimes, soul food is created when you’re not trying to impress,  just trying to listen.
