🪐The System Decided Before I Arrived – A Reflector’s View
I knew before I entered the room that the decision had already been made, but wasn’t sure — you never truly know how outcomes can be, when others are deciding for you.
You might call that intuition. I call it my everyday reality as a Reflector — someone who feels the emotional temperature of a room before the door even opens.
Last week, I had a meeting with the authorities. A big one.
The kind of meeting that’s supposed to decide your future — whether you’ll be placed in a flex job, offered support, or left to navigate things alone.
But there was no deciding. It had already been decided.
They gave me up to three years of no-pressure time.
No forced work placements. No more tests or questions — just space.
And while that might sound like a gift (and in many ways, it is),
I walked out of that room feeling… confused.
Relieved.
Slightly shaken.
And a little bit invisible.
💠 A Reflector’s Reality Inside the System
Reflectors in Human Design are designed to reflect the world around them.
We absorb. We mirror. We feel. And in institutions — where systems move faster than souls — that gift becomes both a compass and a curse.
I felt the energy in the room shift before the words were spoken.
I sensed what they believed about me — not malicious, just… shallow.
I heard the doctor’s comments and watched how my lived experience was reduced to checkboxes and assumptions.
And yet — the outcome was aligned.
Three years of space.
Three years to restore.
Three years to breathe.
So why did I feel so heavy?
🔍 When Relief Comes with Residue
Sometimes, you get what you asked for —
but how it arrives still leaves a bruise.
The system gave me time. But it also gave me a mirror:
One that reflected how little it really understands the soul.
We live in a world that wants fast diagnoses.
Clear categories.
Fixed outcomes.
But my life doesn’t fit in a checkbox.
And I don’t need to prove my pain to earn rest.

🌿 Breaking Free From Assigned Roles
This meeting reminded me:
The deepest kind of freedom isn’t just about what you’re allowed to do.
It’s about whether you’re seen as whole while doing it.
And if I had to meet a system to reclaim my time,
then I’ll also meet myself again — more gently, more honestly.
I wrote Awakened and Breaking Free for this exact reason.
To name the parts of the system that drain us.
To remind others that they’re not crazy, broken, or weak.
They’re often just too awake for the world they’ve been forced to survive in.
📚 Gentle Reflection
If you’ve ever left a meeting and felt both validated and invisible,
If you’ve ever needed space but hated how it was granted,
If you’ve ever broken down just to remember your power…
This book may resonate with you, too.
